"Tune Ups" While some folks might find the idea of "Tuning Up" your
computer pretty amusing it's actually quite applicable in today’s world. In fact, if you've noticed that your
computer just seems to be running slower and slower as of late, then a tune
up is exactly what you need. We have the knowledge to make your computer run smoothly again. We can also help you chose anti-virus and anti-spyware utilities that won't break the bank and aren't so bloated that they bring your system to a crawl! In fact, we'll come right out and say it here; you'd be well advised to steer clear of products from the "Big Three" - Symantec (Norton), McAfee and Trend-Micro. These power houses used to make some of the best software in the business, but unfortunately that's no longer the case (this has been well documented). Their products are expensive, ineffective and so "bloated" that they'll bring a modest computer to its knees. The products we use are either LEGALLY free or very reasonably priced; and we'll be happy to show you how to use them! willing to help you in purchasing a computer that we didn't assemble for you?
Simple, because we want to make sure our clients are getting the computer
they NEED based upon their budget and desired used; not what some high
pressure sales person is trying to force feed you. Nor do we want to see our
clients suffer from the issues a "bargain basement" computer will
inevitably bring them. We're also more than happy to setup your new pre-built
computer at your home or office, transfer data from your old computer and get
everything running smoothly. At FastGeek Computers we do custom built computers quite differently than the way you're used to. If you'd like to pursue this route we'll be happy to explain the entire process to you in detail. All computers that we design, assemble, test and setup will have a 1yr warranty on all labor related to hardware failures. And in the unlikely event you DO have a failure you'll have a skilled and dependable LOCAL expert that you know and trust to help you, not some person you can barely understand who is reading out of a script book in a far away land! We can also assist business owners with custom built or purchasing pre-assembled Servers, Workstations and Backup Solutions. Hardware & Software Upgrades If you're looking to get the most out of your current computer for entertainment or business purposes, or maybe you're just looking to extend the life of your current machine until you're ready to splurge on a new one, we can help you make it happen! From video card upgrades, to installing a new Dual Layer DVD burner, adding or replacing hard drives, additional memory (RAM) or a new processor (CPU) we're here to help you. Or perhaps you need to upgrade your operating system to a newer version, most likely Windows XP or Vista for most of you; or perhaps to a newer version of Windows Server for a business owner. Before proceeding we'll evaluate your current hardware to verify that it's suitably up to the task of your new OS. In some cases we'll have some suggested upgrades (RAM or HDD for example) and in some rare cases we may have to explain that it would be more cost effective to replace the entire machine vs. the planned upgrade. Educational Training When it comes to training we ask that you have a specific goal or goals in mind. Much as we'd love to, we simply can't help you to "learn everything I need to know" when it comes to computers! We also suggest that you not be put off by the "For Dummies" books, which can be found at your local book stores. These books are well written and can be real life savers. However if you desire some one-on-one training then we're ready to help you meet your goals! From using email like a pro, buying & selling on eBay, basic graphics editing and just getting more comfortable with Word, Excel and other MS Office Suite products we're here to help you! Once again, please have a couple specific goals and set aside at least a couple hours for each lesson. |
